Bristol Free School Admissions ConsultationMany of you will be aware that a number of residents worked together during the first part of 2016 to seek inclusion of our estate in the Bristol Free School Area of Primary Admissions (aka the “catchment area”). BPDMCL supported this initiative and acted as the coordinating point for our common efforts.
The work we supported involved surveying the estate and making representations to all key stakeholders to promote our case for inclusion. In addition, many residents made submissions to the BFS consultation on increasing the size of the school, in order to make the case in support of our estate’s inclusion in the catchment area. Despite extensive lobbying of the Governors of the School, by ourselves, Charlotte Leslie (Our MP) and Mark Weston (Our Local Councillor), we have not been able to successfully conclude this campaign and will have to await a suitable opportunity in the future.
